Day 1

So saturday I did some Yoga for about half an hour, then swam for a bit. Before going about the rest of my  day. Yesterday I did 50 minutes of yoga, swam a little, did my day then went for a longer swim in a lake last night. My body is feeling exhausted, but in a good way.

But, I said today would be by first day on a new work out schedule, that I've kind of mish-mashed together in my head. I think it'll be interchangeable, depending on if I could get a workout in or not during work, but this is what I am looking at:

Day 1: Spartan workout ( they have a 30 day program I will loosely follow in this way, picking up on whatever day is my Spartan day)
Day 2: Spartan workout
Day 3: Run. This week my goal is 5 kms, but my heel is still all chewed up.
Day 4: Spartan Workout.
Day 5: Spartan Workout
Day 6: Longer run / Yoga to stretch it out
Day 7: Rest with Yoga/Swim

Then repeat.

When I say interchangeable, I  mean that if I was not able to get something in at the office, or if I worked later than intended, I'll do at least some yoga and swim. I'll probably be swimming in the evening every day anyways, with my pool up and running finally, but I wont depend on it being my sole work out of the day.

The Spartan workout of the Day goes in four levels, and I'm starting at the lowest one again, and every month I'll go up one level. I have three goals for this:
 1. Oct-Nov I'll be doing  training that will be very physically demanding, and I want to be in the best shape I can be going in.
2. I'm getting married in Hawaii at the beginning of December, and want to be in decent shape for that. and
3. I want to work towards being a bit more competitive in the Spartan Races next year, instead of just going for a completion. I know I wont be in the top three, but I want to post better times, that's for sure.

Oh, weigh in: 138.6 .  I'm not going for losing weight, cause honestly my legs are the most toned they've been in a while, and I've got ab definition coming out, but just to show a starting point.

Long Time No Post... new achievements

Well, I hadn't been posting the last little while, and you might assume that I hadn't been doing anything to go with that lack of online activity.

But, in fact I had achieved a fair bit, if I do say so my self.

I  have finished all the Spartan Races: 2 5km Sprints, 1 13 km Super and 1 21.9 km Beast.  With that, I got my Trifecta Medal, and I finally accomplished something I set out as a goal. That was a week ago tomorrow, and my heel is still torn up, but I'm feeling good about that, and wondering what else I can do.  I'm hoping that next year I will be able to do it for time, in stead of for completion.  With all the working out I did for this ( the weights and upper body) I ended up putting on some muscle weight, but I think if I start a work out program starting monday, I will weight myself then and see what I'm going to be up to.

So, I am going to set out doing a more dedicated and rigorous work out schedule. The Spartan website has a pretty good 30 day thing going on, so I might start from the bottom and work my way up and try it that way.  But, I also have other things I'm doing like riding my pedal bike and kayaking, swimming and yoga.

I also want to look at doing a half marathon,  ( I know the beast was pretty much that, but a lot of it was hiking up hills and stuff) I know I wont be able to do the ones this October, because of a work course I'll be on, but hopefully I can get to doing one next spring as well.

Which is what I think I'll do today, some yoga and then swim, take a nice relaxing day and enjoy it.
